A not-to-be missed afternoon of free music from bluegrass to shanties, and choral singing to acoustic rock, will take place on and around The Stade, Hastings, this Sunday (July 14).
From noon to 4pm, musicians and choirs from Hastings and beyond will be performing as part of Our Big Gig, a nationwide community celebration of music that will see 300 events hosted between July 11 and 14.
As well as live performances there will also be workshops and the afternoon will culminate in a mass sing, where audience participation is actively encouraged.
At the Fishermen’s Museum, Jerwood Gallery, Lifeboat Station, and East Hastings Sea Angling Association, performers will be taking to boats and balconies for acoustic sets of between 15 and 30 minutes, from noon to 3pm.
Those taking part include Soundwaves Choir, Nicky Mitchell, Cushty, Rizen, The Harmonious Duo, Now & Then, Enid Brighton, Kim Thomsett, George Stevens, Sounds Good, Rattlebag and The Shanty Singers, R Brooks, Danni Mansfield, Adam Lightspeed, Fiddlesparks, Bexhill Harmony Choir, Dende Samba, Kyle of Minogue, Harry Osborne, Las Passionaras, Sacred Heart Primary School Choir, Helenswood String Ensemble, Eclipse Choir, The Class, Nana Tsiboe, and Vocal Explosion choir and band.
